As flu season approaches, we are anticipating an increased demand for
influenza vaccinations. We will be holding walk-in flu shot
clinics in our annex throughout flu season as
long as our supply lasts. Our schedule of flu shot days
will be posted as soon as it is available. We hope to be able to hold some evening and/or
weekend clinics in October and November if our supply permits.
We encourage all of our patients over 6 months of age to receive the flu
shot. You may not receive the flu shot if you are
allergic to eggs.
Flu shots are also generally available at local drug stores and departments of health. Overlook Hospital and
Morristown Hospital will likely also be holding flu clinics this year. Please consider all available opportunities to receive
your flu shot. We will not be scheduling appointments for flu
shots during regular office hours.
Please check this website frequently for updates on the scheduled
dates of our flu clinics as well as the Overlook and Morristown dates.
Also, as our flu vaccine shipments will be periodic throughout flu
season, please check the website before coming to a scheduled flu shot
date as if our supply is out, we will need to cancel the session.
Updates will be posted on the home page.
The flu vaccine for 2010 will contain the H1N1 vaccine as
well. If your child is under 9 years of age and did NOT receive 2 doses
of H1N1 vaccine last year, then he/she should receive 2 doses of flu
vaccine this year, at least 4 weeks apart.
